Connecting communities towards an inclusive and sustainable digital future in the Maule Region, Chile

We seek to strengthen communities through equitable access to technology

Local Internet networks connect homes and empower women and groups by promoting digital inclusion and autonomy.

Analysis and Diagnosis

An exhaustive review of the literature on community Internet networks and a detailed analysis of the local context in the Maule Region will be carried out. Demographic data will be collected, and key interviews will be conducted. The aim is to analyze the possibilities and challenges of implementing community networks and highlight their inclusive potential.

Proposal Design

A community network model will be developed for Maule, including technical aspects and economic sustainability. Principles of technological justice and gender equity will be integrated, and proposals will be formulated to promote inclusive participation and ensure environmental sustainability in implementing technological infrastructures.

Implementation and Dissemination

A community will implement a pilot plan to evaluate the proposed community network model, establish local alliances, and continuously monitor its performance. The results will be documented, focusing on gender equity and environmental justice and informing recommendations for inclusive public policies.
